Most traditional gas compressor packages are designed for discharge pressures of 100 psig or higher and do not enable efficient use of horsepower at extra low discharge pressures (<35 psig). Furthermore, the plastic pipe used in low pressure gathering systems is often limited to gas temperatures of 23ºC, making booster compressors difficult to use.

Oil free blowers are designed especially for extra low discharge pressures, ideally suited for the abundant low pressure gathering systems in Alberta and they’re almost maintenance free.

The XLP gas compressor package operates at optimal efficiency in extra low pressure applications, enabling it to produce up to three times the production volumes when compared to the equivalent traditional rotary screw compressor. A two-stage gas-to-gas heat exchanger ensures the discharge gas temperature will not exceed 23ºC.
